I want to be one of THOSE blogs...
You know the ones that give good advice, have funny stories, good recipes, or amazing giveaways? You know, the ones you look forward to visiting? But how do I get there? So far all I blog about is my attempt to cook, my adorable son, & random things I do. I don't have tons of time to work on my blog, so this may take a while, but I want/NEED input from experienced bloggers! Please help me! Right now I work 7ish-6ish Tues-Fri & 8-12ish Sat, but maybe if I can get this blog thing down & somehow make a little money at it, I can cut back a little. Thoughts? Suggestions? Anything is GREATLY appreciated!

My favorite feature of blogger (and wordpress) is the ability to schedule posts. If I have the time to crank out 3 short posts, I can schedule them to be posted on 3 days in the future. That way, my blog can continually have new content but I don't really have to be writing something out every day.
I also took a blog class with blogelina about monetizing my blog - baby steps so far but I need to build up my reader base and then hopefully bigger things will happen. You can read about the class on my blog here: http://blog.concertkatie.com/2011/02/blog-milestones-blogelina-blog-class.html
I agree with katie. The scheduling of future posts is super handy.

I think the main thing if your wanting to do giveaways is to just put yourself out there and contact companies that you already love. Let them know. Also, joining Bloggy Moms helped my readership by joiing groups that follow each other. :) Hope that helps.
Stopping by from Hop a Little Tuesday. I hear you about getting a blog running. It has been a daily project for me and I'm at home with the kids all day. Scheduling the posts is a great idea. It's so important to be true to what you want to share and talk about. While you are doing what you love you can create the life you want.
Joining a blogging group helps as well. The key is to support each other to build up readership. Bloggy Moms and Mom Bloggers Club are both good.

For me it isn't about making a profit. I love to write thus I love to blog :) I am just a results girl. I want visitors I want my followers to go up.
